My car is stationary, took it in to have air bags replaced, dealership calls and says that my rack and pinion needs to be replaced at a cost of $1,300. How long before this goes out completely or what do i do in this case? I can't afford it.

The vehicle makes a straining sound, as if it were in first gear while driving. The steering makes a loud noise when turning in either direction. I had dealer check it and was told the hydraulic fluid pump needs to be replaced, fluid appears to be leaking.

On sept. 18th,2012 i had the steering rack assembly replaced @ 35,808 mi. In my 2010 honda crv by freeman honda. I am now at (approx. 72,000 mi.) and it is leaking again and needs to be replaced. I think that freeman honda installed a defective steering rack. They are refusing to honor the work that they did.
