Upon taking this vehicle in for its 90,000 mile maintenance service, the honda certified mechanics informed us that the power steering rack was leaking fluid and would not pass new york state safety inspection. The exact mileage of the car was at 91653. We had to replace the rack system at a cost to us of over $1,000.00. This system failure should not have occurred at this stage of the car's life. Very early failure of power steering rack and pinion. The dealer/honda did not provide a better mechanism to identify the issue. I think honda power steering is a very defective part that they are selling to customers and charging hefty dollars $1750 to repair at the customer's expense.
